abstract In work the problem of PET material recycling by creating PET composites with short glass fibre type E covered with silan was undertaken. Mechanical properties of composites were examined and compared with analogical properties of recyclate and orginal material. The addition of 20 wt.% of glass fibre is sufficient for composite to achieve mechanical properties higher from analogical properties of recyclate, whereas in order that composite possessed mechanical properties higher than original thermoplastic material addition of glass fibre should be not less than 30 wt.%. There were experimentally evaluated values of tensile strengths and compared with analogical properties determined analytically. It was stated that any significant differences occurred likely associated with the state of polymer matrix. Forming composites of recyclat of polymer matrix with short glass fibre is an alternative for material recycling. Key words: recyclate, composites, glass fibre
