abstract The epoxy compositions and composites hardened with the product of chemical degradation of poly(ethylene terephthalate) with triethanolamine have been investigated. Epoxy resin used was Epidian 6 (product of Chemical Works ”Organika Sarzyna” in Nowa Sarzyna) and as nanofillers were applied Organobentonite, product of ZG-M ”Zebiec” S.A., Starachowice and Nanofil 5, product of Süd-Chemie. The nanofillers were introduced to the compositions in amounts 5 g per 100 g of the epoxy resin. The hardeners were applied in three weight ratios: 28.8 g (E6/PET/TEA 4), 19.2 g (E6/PET/TEA 6) and 14.4 g (E6/PET/TEA 8) per 100 g of the resin. The times of dispergation of nanofillers were 20, 35, 50 and 65 minutes. Crosslinking process and shear strength of the adhesives have been investigated at room temperature after one and three months. The addition of 5% and different times of dispergation does not influence crosslinking process significantly. The epoxy composites with nanofillers have been considerably bigger shear strength than unfilled systems. Introduction of the Organobentonite and Nanofil 5 and longest time of dispergation unexpended does not improve these properties on insufficient dispersion of the nanofillers.
