abstract The technologies of composite production, basing on liquid phase methods and the formation of products by the casting methods are most economical in comparison with methods the using infiltration perform. New material and technological solution could be stirring method for obtaining heterophase composite suspension. The investigation realized on Faculty of Material Engineering and Metallurgy on Silesian Engineering within a framework of projects PBZ / KBN / 114 / T08 / 2008, KBN 3 T08D 024 28 confirmed good casting proprieties of composite suspensions. Applying as heterophase reinforcement (mixture of SiC and glassy carbon particles) make possible to obtain material with stable of the friction coefficient and the first of all lowering wear of friction partner. These properties can be used in piston - cylinder tribological system which was required dimension stability, strength and durability. Aim of investigations realized in frames of project PBR the N RO7 001106 is the develop of complex production technology of heterophase composites pistons applied in air compressor. Transfer from laboratory method to semi technical scale which enabling in industrial conditions cast the pistons is planned. As final result of project will be introduce full technological enabling procedure producing in quantity composite suspension approx. 50 kg of once melting. The realization of prototype part pistons should make possible in industrial conditions in support with mould casting method applied in firm “Złotecki”.
